Shrine to Budd Christman

Budd Christman is a helicopter pilot who worked for the United States NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration between 1978 and 1999 (he is now retired). The forces that control this dimension have chosen him for a unique mission: to cuddle as many cute Arctic animals as possible.

We first encountered Budd Christman by typing "cute baby seal" into google image search. Who is this enigmatic man, dressed in 80s hiking gear, who is cuddling all the cute baby seals on google image search, we wondered?

Then we realised that it's not just seals. Budd Christman cuddles every arctic animal that you every wanted to pet and say "Who's the cutest polar bear, yes you are!"

I especially like his expression in the photo at left with what appears to be a baby ribbon seal or possibly a harp seal. I think that I would also smile like that if I was cuddling a ribbon seal.

Baby seals know of Budd Christman's mission and instinctively relax in his calming grip.

Budd Christman, we salute you! May your helicopter never grow cold. Let all who appreciate boreal fauna sing your praises. When we too have the opportunity to cuddle a ribbon seal, we will toast your name!
